New Year means a new Young Broker's Network Committee and what better way to get to know a committee than to interview them! This week we are talking with  Ryan Cain, one of our co-chairs, from Cain Insurance Service Ltd.

1. Tell me a bit about yourself and your family.

**My Name is Ryan Cain from Cain Insurance Services Ltd. In January 2021, Cain Insurance Services Ltd became a part of Arthur J. Gallagher Canada Ltd in 2021 and is something our company is very proud of. I am 27 years old and have a young family that keeps my fiancé, Alice and I, very busy. Alice and I got engaged this past year and are looking forward to tying the knot in 2023

2. Have you always lived in New Brunswick?

**I have always lived in New Brunswick for the most part. I was born and raised in Fredericton but moved away from home at 18 to attend Mount Allison University in Sackville. When I was 21, I moved to Cambridge, United Kingdom to attend Anglia Ruskin University

3. What are some of your favorite pass-times?

**My pass-times include playing golf, spending time with friends and family, playing hockey, and enjoying our family’ cottage at Grand Lake

4. Your educational background?

**I hold a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree. Before my graduate studies I obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree with a Business Certificate

5. How long have you been involved in the insurance industry? As a broker?

**I have been in the insurance industry for 5 years

6. How did you get into the insurance industry?

**I come from a long list of insurance professionals. My grand father was in the insurance adjusting business and my father and uncle have been brokers for over 30 years. I have always had a broad interest in insurance and risk management; that were always a topic of conversation growing up

7. What is your position?

**I am a Commercial Insurance Specialist (Commercial Producer)

8. Please give a brief summary of your time in the industry.

**I started in the insurance business in 2017 as a personal lines assistant then transitioned into a personal lines broker shortly after. After a couple of years, I moved to the commercial side of things where I took on a role as a Customer Service Representative. From there, I was able to move into a Commercial Producer role. Since 2019, I joined the YBN board as Treasurer and was recently appointed Co-Chair along side Vanessa Duguay.

9. What is your favorite part of being involved in the insurance industry?

**My favourite part about being an insurance professional is the “people” aspect of the business. I enjoy getting the opportunity to learn from other businesses and the people that form them. Being apart of my customer’s day-to-day, assisting with their risk management practices and helping them in  the event of claim is a very rewarding feeling

10. Your aspirations, plans for the future?

**My plans for the future are to watch my young family grow and being apart of their interests and aspirations. Insurance wise, my plans are to continue to grow as an insurance professional, continue to be a team player, and help grow the insurance industry in New Brunswick.

Well Thank you very much Ryan for taking the time to chat with us. Join us next week when we will be talking with Bailey Collins from All Coverage..
